Stay Pretty On A Budget!

Want to stay pretty but you're on a budget? I have a drug store product that is extremely high-quality, but will not break the bank. I have been using Revlon Colorstay Foundation on and off for over a year now, and I have to say it might not only be the best drug store brand, it might actually be the over all best foundation I have tried to date! I has great coverage, a wide-range of color, and it has never irritated my skin. I have found that this foundatin matches my skin-tone better than any other foundation I have tried, including department store brands (which you are allowed to try on your skin in the store to match your skin). It runs for about $12.99 in most drug stores, and lasts a long time. Go out and get this foundation ASAP.. it is definitely KPretty-Approved!

Daring Summer Makeup Tutorial

This is a great look for a sexy summer look. It kind of reminds me of pin-up makeup, which is my favorite kind of makeup. Follow my blog for more looks like this to come!

natural beach makeup

When you go to the beach, appropriate makeup can become a little confusing. Wearing no makeup can make us all feel a little insecure, but I know I definitely do not want to get fully made-up to lay in the sun! So, here are the steps to staying fabulous at the beach, without looking like you've tried too hard!

Step 1: Apply sun screen. I personally use SPF 50, but I do think SPF 30 or higher is fine!

Step 2: Apply a tinted moisturizer. Suggested- Laura Mercier (built-in SPF 20, I think)

Step 3: Lightly use concealer, if needed, to hide any other small imperfections

Step 4: Curl your lashes and apply brown mascara. Suggested- Benefit Bad Gal Lash in brown

Step 5: Apply a small amount of a cream-based, glowy pink blush. Suggested: Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Pink Frosting

Step 6: Apply a lip balm with SPF and a tinted gloss to go over it

Contouring and Highlighting your face

I believe that contouring and highlighting you face is necessary to help complete your makeup. Depending on the structure of your face, there are different contouring and highlighting techniques for each person. There are many other extreme ways and places on your face that can be contoured or highlighted, but, this post is to help the everyday person to slightly alter the appearance of their face.
CAUTION: YOU MUST BLEND WHEN CONTOURING AND HIGHLIGHTING YOUR FACE!

Countouring:

- One of the most common places people want to contour is their cheek bones. If you have very prominent cheekbones, this might not be for you. But, if you have a fuller face, or not much of a cheekbone, this is a great way to help your face appear slimmer. To do this, you're going to want to use your product in the line under your cheekbone that starts at the ear and ends at the corner of the mouth. You may have to make a "fishy face" or "kissy face" to find that spot!

-Scared of "double chin"?! Run some product along the jawline. If you want to go extreme, contour the entire region under your chin that runs from your jawline to the top of your neck. (make sure to blend really, really well!)

- Putting a contouring product on your temples is another great way to help the face appear slimmer. Just a small amount of product is sure to do the trick.

- To help the nose appear slimmer, put your contour product down the sides of your nose bridge. If the length of your nose is an issue, dab some product on the bottom of your nose (against the nostrils)

- If you have a large forehead or long face, contouring along your top of your forehead, closest to the hairline, is sure to help!

-Contouring the groove in between your lower lip and chin can help make your lips appear fuller

KPretty's favorite Contouring Products: NARS Laguna Bronzer, Benefit Hoola Bronzer, and Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick in Chestnut.

Highlighting:

- Highlight the brow bone and inner corners of the eye to illuminate your eyes

- Applying a highlight down the bridge of your nose can help create a slimmer-looking nose.

-Highlighting the very top of your cheekbones is sure way to give your face a very glowy look!

-Dabbing a little bit of highlight right above the cupid's bow (the upper most inner part of your lip), gives your lip that extra sexy pout.
